God’s Mighty and Wonderful Works at FCS Prayerful consideration of the staff and board led us to pursue investment in the following items as a result of December’s $10,000 anonymous designated donation. The following will be provided for the school:
à
Novels for the 3rd and 4th grades.
à
Chapter reading books to complement the 5th and 6th
grade curriculum.
à
Saxon Math updates for grades 4-6. (This includes enrichment
materials as well.) On the High School level the following will be provided:
à New science curriculum for junior high and 9/10 grade.
à Advance Placement training for Mr. Jergens so that our students can take AP Calculus. Advance Placement courses allow high school students to take college level courses and receive college credit if they score well on the AP exam.
We are still considering the best use of the remaining funds.
Praise God for: ª 5 students enrolled last week! (1 new, 4 returning) ª A bus (Outside donations have nearly covered all of the purchase cost!) ª Donations that will enhance our educational and promotional opportunities ª New Saxon math learning center for an elementary class (donated) ª Two nice library carts (practically donated) for a library on wheels ª Block schedule that continues to help students transition from elementary to JH, JH to HS ª New electives for students (Snap Fitness, drafting, sewing, independent life project, art)
ª
Unsung heroes – our staff, students and parents who faithfully
support Christian education The Old School Building damaged by the fire was taken down last week and the resulting void was excavated and filled in by weeks end.
For your review: School Closing/late Start Policy: Closing: If either the Princeton or Milaca districts are closed, Faith Christian School will be closed. If the administrator deems it necessary, FCS will be closed. Late Start: If both Princeton and Milaca have a late start, FCS will start at the time of the earliest late start. Students living in the district with the latest start time may arrive when their district is planning to start. Students in the later starting district will not be considered tardy. If the administrator deems it necessary, FCS will be closed. Please stay tuned to Channel 5, 9 or 11 television stations on inclement weather days in order to be aware of closings or late starts. Early release: Because we do not have our own transportation, FCS does not have early release days unless they are called by the public school district. Should this occur, we will not be able to notify parents by phone. Please stay tuned to your television or radio on inclement weather days for possible early closings in your district. On days that Milaca or Princeton does not have school and FCS does, early closings will be announced on the television stations listed above. If school is cancelled for the day or released early, all events (practices, games, etc.) scheduled for that evening are automatically canceled regardless of any weather changes throughout the day.
