KINDERGARTEN

SCHEDULE

Morning Schedule for Monday-Friday 8:25-11:30 AM

 Core subjects such as Bible, phonics/reading, handwriting, math.

 All K5 students will attend the morning scheduled activities.

 

Transition Time:  11:30 AM--Pick up time for students not staying for the afternoon.

 

Afternoon Schedule for Monday-Friday  11:30AM -2:45 PM

 Lunch

Quiet time, review and enrichment activities such as social studies, science, art, music, library, physical education

Parents may choose which day that their child will attend the afternoon sessions.  This may be one afternoon or all five.  To allow for adequate planning for the K5 teacher, parents will need to choose their child’s school afternoon schedule no later than 2 weeks before the start of each new school quarter.  This quarterly flexibility should allow for changes in the child’s development or changes in the parent schedule.

A quarterly kindergarten assessment is given to each student and the student’s progress is communicated to the parents.  The assessments (not the number of days attended in the kindergarten class) will determine readiness for 1^st grade.  If there are any questions concerning the readiness of a student for 1^st grade, the parents, kindergarten teacher, and 1^st grade teacher will meet to discuss options.
